Methodological Notes from a Geo-Literature Lab, between Geographies of Life and Narrative Re-appropriations of the Places We Traverse

This paper reflects on the experience carried out for Ri-fiabare, a literary geography lab that was launched in April 2024 in Bologna by the authors of this essay and that subsequently took place again in Sardinia and beyond in the summer of the same year, within the context of festivals and events focused on the theme of literary geography. Adopting a multi-voiced approach that combines academic analysis with reflections collected ex post from participants in the first three sessions, this article pursues a dual aim. On the one hand, it reflects on the applications of literary geography within creative and lab-placed practices; on the other, it develops a critical perspective on walking as a means of reactivating literary creation, as well as a tool for reading and interrogating the narrative processes through which our present is constructed and inhabited. The theme of walking is analyzed as a creative method for connecting texts to their spatial and relational dimension. In this sense, particular attention is given to the concept of crossing, understood as a movement of re-signification, re-creation and re-foundation of narratives – and to the places with which they engage in a continuous dialogue.References
